JEM Online SUBSCRIBER HELP & SERVICES:

Frequently Asked Questions
about Individual Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

You will receive a user name and a password when you complete the subscription process. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

  3. Why should I get an Individual subscription?

Individual Subscribers with an Online subscription have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, supplemental onmline material including videos, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents, CiteTrack, content alerts, and the advantage of having password access to JEM Online from any computer connected to the Internet.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has an Online subscription? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

If your institution has an Online subscription you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, supplemental onmline material including videos, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see your institution name at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Will I still be able to get the paper version? And for how long?

Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the paper version for the foreseeable future.

  6. Who is eligible for an Individual Subscription?

Individual subscriptions are available to individuals. Individuals may also have access to JEM Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Individual Subscriptions. Special services such as CiteTrack are not available to institutional subscribers, and full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available.

  7. How can I access JEM Online if I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to purchase an Individual subscription. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

  8. What are the terms and conditions of a subscription?
Terms and conditions are available here.
