About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Transmission electron micrographs of macrophages that were transiently transfected with AmphIIm SH3-, a dominant negative mutant of the adaptor protein amphiphysin IIm (top), or vector control (bottom), and then infected with Chlamydia pneumoniae. Large numbers of C. pneumoniae are contained within vacuoles in the control macrophage, whereas the cell expressing AmphIIm SH3- has vacuoles containing remnants of the bacteria with few C. pneumoniae visible. See related article by Gold et al., pp. 581-586.
